PRIVATE MSG VIEWER
View an MSG file without uploading the email
If an Outlook message contains confidential information, uploading it to an unknown conversion service can be an unnecessary extra step. MSG Opener is a browser-based private MSG viewer: the selected file is parsed on your device rather than sent to MSG Opener for server-side conversion.
What “processed locally” means
Your browser gives the page temporary access to the file you deliberately select. JavaScript in the page interprets the MSG structure and builds the readable view in the browser. MSG Opener does not receive the message contents, place the email in cloud storage or associate it with an account.
Privacy protections in the formatted view
HTML email can reference remote images and other web resources that may reveal when a message is opened. MSG Opener sanitizes the formatted view by blocking remote images, scripts, forms, frames and live links. You can still read the message text and common formatting without automatically loading those resources.
What privacy does not mean
Local processing is not a malware scanner and it does not authenticate the sender. An MSG file can contain deceptive content or unsafe attachments. Downloaded files should still be treated cautiously and checked with the security tools and policies appropriate for your device or organization.
Useful when you only need the message
For many saved Outlook emails, the goal is simple: confirm who sent it, read the body, inspect the attachments and save a copy if necessary. MSG Opener keeps that workflow focused. There is no sign-in, mailbox connection or requirement to install Outlook just to inspect one file.
Use the free browser viewer on the MSG Opener home page. The selected email is processed on your device.
