Open an MSG attached inside another MSG
Forwarded Outlook messages are sometimes stored as complete .MSG attachments instead of being copied into the visible email body. A basic file viewer may show only an attachment icon. MSG Opener can identify many of these nested messages and let you move through the email chain in place.
How nested MSG viewing works
Open the outer MSG file first. When an attachment is itself a recognizable Outlook message, the attachment list includes a View message option. Selecting it opens that attached email in the same viewer, including its subject, metadata, message body and attachments.
Return to the parent message
The viewer keeps a navigation trail as you move into attached emails. Use it to return to the previous message instead of downloading each MSG file and reopening it manually. This is particularly useful when a forwarded chain contains more than one nested message.
Where nested messages appear
Complete MSG attachments are common in archived correspondence, legal or compliance records, customer-support histories and business threads forwarded for review. Keeping the parent and attached messages connected can make the context easier to follow.
A few limits
Not every Outlook object is an ordinary email message, and damaged or unusual MSG attachments may not parse completely. The viewer does not authenticate senders or scan nested attachments for malware. Apply the same caution you would use with any email file.
